Job Description : Hi, we’re Oscar. We’re hiring an Operations Associate to join our Insurance Operations team.Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.About the role You will oversee implementing processes and improvements into our claims operations platform. You will implement solutions, with a focus on creating efficiency and scale through technology and automation. You will understand Oscar’s infrastructure, underlying logic, and data models, and will understand and translate requirements from partners.You will report to the Manager, Insurance Operations. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.Responsibilities You will oversee, designs and prioritize technical operations roadmaps working to implement and improve efficacy and efficiency of existing operational processes or unlock new capabilitiesLead and cross collaborate on iterative problem definition and technical design/scoping to build solutionsUse data to independently guide decisions to affect strategyidentify risks; respond to and resolve issues/errors/escalations through investigation to produce insights for short/medium/long-term technology-enabled solutionsDistill the requirements of new product and market expansions and designs automated workflows to reduce manual work requirementsSupport engineers, analysts and other Operations team members to resolve escalations through issue investigation to produce insights, training, and technical toolingUnderstand the operations ecosystem, technology and data models and its current strengths, weaknesses, and gaps.Maintain relationships with relevant partners as a representative of Insurance OperationsQualifications A bachelor’s degree or 4 years commensurate experience3+ years experience in a technical role (QA analyst, PM, operations analyst, finance, consulting, or industrial engineering)3+ years experience in coding (e.g. SQL/Python) or similar database language experience (e.g. SQL)Experience in analytics and ability to find insights from complex, broad datasetsProficiency in designing and improving workflows and standing up accompanying operating and technical proceduresBonus Points An academic and professional background in coding, math, statistics, or data scienceKnowledge management, training, or content development in operational settingsProcess Improvement or Lean Six Sigma trainingExperience in healthcare, specifically claims processing or eligibility & billingJob Type: Full-timePay: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:This is a remote / work-from-home role.
