Additional Comments
The university community poses unique challenges and situations for the law enforcement officer. Even though the university is considered a safe environment, the very nature of law enforcement periodically places an officer in situations that can result in serious injury or death. In addition to the demands of the university and the inherent dangers of law enforcement career, officers often experience adverse effects on their mental health, family life, and overall social life.
The job requires constantly responding to unknown situations. The Patrol Officer must be prepared to use deadly force if needed.
