Position : Payroll Administrator
Job Description : The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of alternate bi-weekly payrolls for multiple companies in over 20 states. As a member of the payroll team, the successful candidate will possess a positive, self-motivated attitude; be detail oriented with an eye for critical review; and have a true passion for payroll processing.Payroll Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, auditing, and entering dataVerify timecards for hours worked, time off balances, and manager approvalsCalculate and process designer commissions for multiple compensation plansReview payroll batches for personnel changes and overall accuracyProvide training to local staff regarding payroll & timekeeping processesReconcile payroll statements and process the payroll entries into the accounting systemCompute and enter month-end payroll and vacation accrualsPossess familiarity with payroll software policy configurationsReply timely and with excellent, positive customer service skills to all staff inquiriesKeep current on federal, state, and city payroll tax laws which affect assigned locationsManage payroll workflow amid multi-tasking requirements to ensure transactions are processed accurately and timelyAdapt to a fast-paced changing environmentPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum of an Associate degree in accounting from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5+ years of hands-on processing experience in a multi-state environmentStrong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office and Excel, with emphasis on formulasAccuracy with 10-key and data entryFamiliarity with GL CodingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated consistency in values, principles, and work ethicMust possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, time management, and organizational skillsRecent experience with automated accounting systems. QuickBooks, Epicor and Paylocity experience preferredExperience in a manufacturing accounting environment preferredWorking ConditionsAbility to work in an office environment including sitting, standing, and operating office equipment. This position will be located in the office setting with the opportunity of hybrid remote.
