Job Description : Scan Global Logistics is looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company’s semi-monthly payroll in North America . You will be the one to calculate wages based on hours worked and administer payments. The payroll specialist is able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. They are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. They have great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives. The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.ResponsibilitiesGather information on hours worked for each employeeCalculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer systemReceive approval from upper management for payments when neededPrepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecksAdminister statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paperProcess taxes and payment of employee benefitsKeep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiorsPrepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.Assist with other HR functions as needed.SkillsProven experience as payroll specialist or payroll managerSolid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practicesVery good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the fieldProficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant softwareTrustworthy with attention to confidentialityOutstanding organizational ability with great attention to detailExcellent communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: From $65,000.00 per yearPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Seattle, WA 98148: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)Payroll Occupations: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
