Position : Production Technician

Job Description : The Production Technician is responsible for operating equipment associated with the processes of extrusion, or casting, and handling of aluminum product. The Production Technician must meet these responsibilities while following job safe practices, standard operating procedures, and meeting quality requirements. Starting rate of pay is $19.00 while on probation (90 days) then 21.75 to 24.50 depending on assignment/bid.Responsibilities:· Complies with all Job Safe Practices (JSP’s)· Reviews and follows all Standard Operating procedures for processes· Ensures that quality objectives are met· Operates extrusion or tube mill equipment· Reports and reviews any unusual conditions with the supervisor or lead person, or other designated appropriate person.· Maintains department 5S condition· Reports on production results and department measurables· Actively works to correct any unsafe conditions· Interacts daily with other team members, and representatives of other departmentsBackground and Preferred Skills· High school diploma or equivalent· Post high school education a plus· Solid verbal and written communication skills· Experience operating industrial equipment· Ability to work well with others in a team environment and on problem solving activities· Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment· Must be able to work all shifts- Must be able to pass pre-hire drug screen and back ground checkSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advanced education preferred. Some experience in fork lift operation or manufacturing preferred. Ability to write routine reports.
