Position : Recycling Sorter
Job Description : At Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station, we operate a state-of-the-art multipurpose solid waste transfer and material recovery facility in order to serve the community. As a Sorter, you will be an integral part of the team, by sorting a wide variety of recyclable waste material and assuring that nonrecyclable materials are separated.· Perform duties in compliance with Company standards and policies· Inspect materials; sort items or materials into designated areas according to type, size, condition, color, or grade· Perform cleaning duties related to facility equipment and general housekeeping· Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and as trained· Other duties as assignedLANGUAGEBilingual in English and Spanish is PreferredQUALIFICATIONS· Be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties listed above· Must be able to satisfactorily pass a pre employment drug test and physical exam· Strict adherence to Company standards and procedures· Must have good judgement, work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision· Must be a team player and willing to help others when necessary· Able to respond appropriately to constructive feedback from ManagementPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may occasionally walk on uneven or slippery surfaces.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, exposed to odors adherent to waste/recycling or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
