This is a hospitality position where we are not interested in security officers who are wired for these environments. The role is for a leader who makes good decisions and is calm and poised under pressure and knows how to lead and support a team. The Security Captain helps to create a memorable experience beyond just keeping the venue, guests and team safe by being hospitality focused. The Security Captain is responsible for being the first line of defense, and is empowered to make the best decisions to keep the team and venue safe. The Security Captain is our first point of contact with our guests, and will also ensure our team of guest service-oriented door greeters, bartenders and servers continue and exceed guest expectations to grow sales safely and responsibly before being the last point of contact before the guest leaves. While safety and security are the primary functions of this role, they must be performed in a way that is both proactive and courteous to ensure our guests feel both respected and safe.Top functions managed and personally performed include: Egress management, checking of ID’s and safe alcohol service. Other important functions are: Great communication between leadership, team members and guests, Anticipation of events that may be planned or not planned and Remaining Calm under pressure and never losing your cool when intentionally or unintentionally provoked by a situation. The Security Captain should also be expert in making good decisions and be adaptable as circumstances may change or evolve.Security Captain Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure all egress are clear and capacity levels are carefully monitored and recorded.Ensure all guests have proper identification for the purchase of alcoholEnsure proper training is complete: Fire safety, safe alcohol service and any other required certificationsKnowledge of venue and amenities.Scheduling, hiring, training and any other onboarding or corrective action used to coach team membersCompletion of necessary documentation and reporting constantly and completely.Host meetings with the Security Team as well as service staff responsible for guest interaction/safety. .Assist Leadership team with close out procedures.Oversee and execute training and development of the rest of the Security Team.Help write training & SOPs for the location.Uphold and exemplify the Y3S culture.Act with a bias towards action to quickly anticipate and resolve any potential issues.Qualifications & RequirementsDegrees & Certifications are great, but not required.Administration functions: Incident reporting, training and team onboarding.Can work in a team environment, showcases good time management, guest service oriented and trustworthy25-30 hours per work weekProfessional dress code during working hoursEvening availability with the ability to work special events & holidays as neededMust have reliable transportationLearn more here: https://your3rdspot.com/careersAt Your 3rd Spot, we practice HOSPITALITY.
