Job Description : Description:
Providence is calling a Security Officer (Security,Variable-Shift, 1.0 FTE) at St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position, you will:
Patrol and monitor interior and exterior areas of the facility and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors and windows
Monitor security camera system and investigate and report any suspicious events
Monitor hospital entry and exit points for loss prevention and unauthorized entry
Complete daily inspections and checklists for critical equipment, systems, facility & grounds safety, and environmental hazards
Investigate, document, and report all critical building equipment and system alarms, hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances
Respond to the location of all fire alarms to assist with entry to secure areas and basic fire extinguisher use
Enforce security, safety, and environment of care life safety policies
Assists any persons in the hospital or grounds needing assistance, information or directions
Escort people or property to desired destination within the hospital or grounds when security concerns are present
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Valid Alaska Driver’s License
1 year of Related experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year of full-time experience in Law Enforcement or security
About St. Elias Specialty Hospital
St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System. The hospital has 59 beds, almost all private rooms. The facility features state of the art equipment to provide extended inpatient acute care for patients.
At St. Elias Specialty Hospital, we provide customized, physician-driven services for patients requiring longer stays in an acute care environment due to multiple or complex medical conditions. We are not a permanent placement for patients; rather we are an answer for many patients who are acutely ill and need to take the first steps towards rehabilitation or home.
Most of our patients are admitted from a traditional acute care hospital, often from the Intensive Care Unit. Families of patients are welcome to contact us to see if we might be an option for their loved one.
