This entry-level role is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping people and strives to facilitate an optimal environment where everyone can achieve their goals.Roles and Responsibility: With support and guidance from GI Talent Team program leaders, and reporting to the Intern Program Lead, GI Student Success Associates are responsible to attract, recruit, engage, retain, monitor, and support the success of outstanding student interns and fellows from undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral communities, to and through the GI’s nation-leading talent development programs for the Department of Defense (“DOD”). GI talent development programs are executed in close partnership with various offices and agencies within the DOD, including and primarily for the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (“Rome Lab”) and the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense for Research and Engineering (“OUSD”). GI talent programs are technical in nature, focused on students concentrating in STEM fields such as computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, and physics. GI programs employ 300-400 students each year.Student Success Associates are responsible to ensure that GI programs engage a diverse community of qualified applicants, and that students who are selected for service with the GI have a seamless and meaningful experience while employed by the GI. Key performance indicators include quantitative measurements of program application volume, applicant demographics, and length of retention, as well as qualitative measures centered on student and mentor experiences.The Griffiss Institute aims to develop the next generation of STEM talent and defense technologies that will strengthen U.S. national security and create economic opportunity for our region, state and nation.
