This posting is for the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention System Branch.

The position is located in Manoa – Kahala on the Island of Oahu.

Up to $38,220 per year, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

Duties Summary
Exempt, Non-Civil Service, Full-Time, Temporary Appointment. The primary purpose of this position will provide typing, clerical and fiscal support services for the Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention System Branch, Injury Prevention and Control Section (IPCS). The office assistant will perform a variety of duties independently and will assist in maintaining the general office operations of the Section and related duties for the Trauma System.

This position is also responsible for providing the necessary fiscal and clerical support to program staff that enables them to work effectively with state and community partners to address the eight leading areas of injury in Hawaii.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
EXPERIENCE: Basic: Six (6) months of work experience which demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic; ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly and compare words and number quickly and accurately.

Clerical: One (1) year of clerical work experience which involved the performance of a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems, and operate various kinds of office equipment and technologies.

Excess clerical experience and certain types of education may substitute for basic and/or clerical experience.
