Position : Unit Clerk – Medical/Oncology – Per Diem, 8hr – Days Variable
Job Description : Salary Range: $31.05 – $35.32
Summary of Duties: Responsible for performing visitor and nursing support duties and maintaining a clean and organized work area, including some clerical duties. May also be assigned other duties as required, in addition to performing the essential function of the job.
Educational Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience Requirements
Internal applicants may be selected for training.
One year previous Unit Clerk experience in acute care hospital preferred.
Previous clerical, receptionist, physician’s office experience or appropriate medical training preferred.
Special Skills or Abilities
Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology required.
Emotional stamina to work in a stressful environment, with good verbal communication skills required.
Computer skills sufficient to use computer system with accuracy for admitting, discharging, ordering, charging, and patient scheduling.
