Job Description : Serving on the senior leadership team, the VP, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging will lead the development and implementation of an integrated diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) agenda, strategies and roadmap in support of the organization’s strategic priorities to advance DEIB and the organization’s commitment to be an anti-racist organization. The VP will work collaboratively across the organization to develop, assess and report on actionable and measurable DEIB goals, strategies and metrics in alignment with organizational objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide strategic and creative leadership in the development and advancement of the organization’s inclusion and diversity goals and cultivate an environment within the YMCA of SD where ALL people know that they are seen, included and belong.· Partner with the Chief People Officer, to help ensure the processes related to recruiting, training, leadership development, engagement, succession planning, promotions and retention support a talented, high performing, diverse workforce.· Advise and work with the Association Committees of the Corporate board to ensure that the governance process is in alignment with the DEIB agenda, goals and strategies.· Stay abreast of changes in regulatory and market conditions as well as emerging trends that may affect the organization’s DEIB strategies and programs.· Provide leadership for defining, instituting and executing policies, processes, and programs which support and advance diversity, inclusion and a workplace culture of belonging.· Serves as the organization’s Affirmative Action Officer and is responsible for administering the organization’s AA program.· Design & implement tracking strategies, metrics, monitoring and reporting systems to be able to benchmark progress and measure effectiveness of communications and programs.· Collaborate and partner with internal and external resources to identify and develop educational curriculum, recruitment and retention, employee engagement, recognition strategies and tools to support the DEIB agenda.· Link DEIB strategy to overall business strategy and establish key performance metrics to determine impact to ongoing business goals and HR processes.· Leads the implementation of staff-wide learning and training on equity and inclusion.· Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop and execute the DEIB communication strategy to ensure broad communication of strategy, programs and progress.· Provide expert knowledge and coaching around DEIB practices to senior leadership and executive leadership team members.· Work with staff teams to build off of the foundation created by Racial Justice Task Force and JEDI to create a Diversity and Inclusion Council, and other employee resource groups to ensure strategic and tactical alignment on DEIB initiatives.· Develop and oversee supplier diversity strategy and program, working across the organization to promote the program and address any barriers to the programs’ success.· Work with executive leadership team members to help create a welcoming and engaging environment to ensure the YMCA of San Diego equitably serves the whole community.· Consults as needed with staff on ensuring equity is centered in public-facing documents, policy work, external partnerships, and substantive output.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience in social services, sociology, diversity & equity, and/or social justice related work.Three years’ experience in training, public speaking, communication, human resources, or other related operational areas where they have demonstrated successes in integrating diversity and inclusion.Skilled at designing and implementing effective diversity and inclusion trainings and programs.Skilled in addressing affirmative action situations.Ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.Project management experience with ability to work with cross-functional teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and skilled at building and maintaining intercultural relationships.· CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:American Red CrossAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Safety & Health InstituteJob Type: Full-timePay: $152,523.75 – $254,206.25 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceWork Location: One location
