Position : Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Description : Job Summary: A privately owned real-estate company is seeking a highly skilled candidate to join our growing team as an Accounts Receivable Technician/Specialist. This position will be responsible for the full scope of A/R from setting up new tenants in our accounting system and maintaining the applicable hard-files to making collections calls for delinquent and aging balances. This position has the potential to cross-train payroll, AP, banking, and general ledger to provide cross-coverage and improved efficiency as well as growth opportunity for the candidate. Responsibilities include but are not limited to sending invoices, reconciling accounts, processing cash receipts and ACH payments, maintaining billing accounts for all tenants, and collecting on past due accounts. This position will work directly with the department lead on a variety of projects to improve efficiency and accuracy as well as optimize processes and develop new reporting tools for increased financial and business performance transparency. Some weekends and evenings may be required during key reporting periods and deadlines.Position Expectations and ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret tenant leases and supplied data to ensure correct billing of all contractual charges.Complete monthly reconciliations of pass-through expenses such as common area maintenance expenses, security costs, and real estate taxes.Receive and apply daily receipts to receivable subledgersFollow-up with tenants to address and collect on delinquent accountsCoordinate and communicate billing and collections activities to the management teamReview and advise on the release of security deposits for departing tenants.Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed, to include payables, general ledger, and payroll.Other tasks and projects as assigned by the finance team lead.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or associate’s degree in related field is a plus.Five years of experience in accounting with at least two years in accounts receivable.
