Job Description : SFE is looking to add to their Food Service Department at Atlanta Public Schools. These positions are Monday – Friday, day shift – No Nights and No Weekends!Provide support to the food services department at an assigned school with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food to students and other personnel while maintaining safe and sanitary conditions.These positions are with the Atlanta school district cafeterias located all around the Atlanta, GA area.Background and fingerprint screenings are required.Monday – Friday day hours, no nights & no weekends!Looking for a career change? Qualifications:· Ability to safely and properly operate equipment found in commercial kitchens· Ability to adhere to safety practices· Ability to read and follow recipes (multi-step written and oral instructions)· Possess basic cooking and cleaning skills· Sensitivity and respect for people of various backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and socioeconomic situations· Must be able to obtain a food handler’s card within 2 weeks of hire as well as successful completion of background check/clearance if applicableResponsibilities:· Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes, production records and Kitchen Lead, General Manager of Food Service, and/or other on-site/visiting Management instruction.· Serves meals to students, staff, parents, etc. and ensures lines are stocked.· Ensures quality of prepared food based on SFE standards and mandated health standards.· Maintains equipment, serving utensils, storage areas, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition.· Inventories food, condiments, supplies, etc.· Assist with receiving, checking temperatures, and putting away deliveries.· Ensure kitchen is sanitary at end of the day to include but not limited to dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing work/prep/serving stations, dusting, etc.· Merchandises food and beverage items according to SFE standards.· Follows all safety protocols.· Cross train in all roles of the cafeteria and fill in when needed to ensure staff coverage and smooth service (i.e. cashiering).Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentAbility to speak, read, write and understand English and/or dominate language at the schoolBe able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop frequently lift up to 30 poundsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, Gender/Minority/Veterans/Disabled and participates with E-Verify Employment Eligibility ProgramJob Type: Part-timePay: $11.00 – $11.50 per hourBenefits:Health insurancePhysical Setting:Quick service & fast food restaurantSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
