Whether you are the rising professional or savvy in communications, this position presents numerous opportunities to deepen the work at the Foundation and to develop professionally.This position works with two other members of the communications team to implement the Foundation’s expansion plan by casting compelling stories to help Americans better understand how and why the Foundation’s litigation changes lives and impacts the rest of the country in protecting liberty.Primary responsibilities include: Spokesperson and Storytelling—work closely with the leadership and counsel to harness the powerful impact of litigation on the lives of Americans and impact on the country; speak to media and other press outlets to move the hearts of others; support the CEO in talking points and messaging to influence others.Communications Department Management—help draft and implement a communications plan that defines messaging; oversee key elements and production of all Foundation collateral; manage a communications editorial calendar and act as a liaison between departments to keep track of upcoming content needs and special projects; support website and social media content plan and production; use project management software and established communication processes; and ensure all deadlines are met.Communications Strategy—inform the strategy of the communications department through growing in greater acumen with industry practices, split testing, data analytics, and so forth; create case-specific content, quarterly newsletters, and monthly communications; collaborate with the development team on house file and acquisition letters.Qualifications: The communications manager must have some experience working in a communications or marketing department and embody a resourceful, agile, ambitious, and entrepreneurial personality to be able to meet the demands of a growing nonprofit. A higher salary may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
