Position Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Operations is responsible for YMCA branch and satellite location daily operations, including member services, programming, staffing and facilities.Our Culture: Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with YOU.Essential Functions: Responsible for the daily operations of branch to ensure adherence to standard operating policies and procedures.Establishes with the branch leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.Provides staff support for assigned committees.Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals.Manages and monitors operating budgets for assigned branch to meet or exceed targets. Works with Director of Finance to create operational budget to assure financial stability Attends board meetings to report on current operations.Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs, which support branch r and Association mission, goals, and strategies. Manages branch marketing and communication efforts.Ensure the maintenance of branch facilities and property to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness and to assure that the requirements of all internal and external policy and regulatory codes are fully met.Responds and resolves employee relations issues and member and community inquires and grievances in a timely manner.Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA, to include completing Organizational Leader Certification and other YMCA educational opportunities suggested by Association leadership.Oversee logistics of build-out and start-up operations at satellite location, including marketing of programs and services.Mentor and motivate team to achieve productivity and engagement, while preserving the Y’s culture.Familiar with continuing quality improvements and assessments.Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in human services, recreation, social services, business or equivalent.2. Three or more years of management experience, preferably at a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency. Health and Fitness background is a plus.3. Ability to direct assigned operations including supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.4. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations5. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.6. Involves members and community in the development of programs and activities. Ensures execution of plans. Institutes sound accounting procedures, investment policies and financial controls. Assigns clear accountability and ensures continuous improvement.Personal Growth: Fosters a learning environment embracing diverse abilities and approaches. Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change. Anticipates challenges that can sidetrack or derail growth and personal learning.
