Job Description : Interested in an impactful career where you can work from home?Virginia Hospital Center is looking for an Epic Cadence Analyst! This new team member will be working at home four days a week and one day on campus.This position provides technical application support for complex Epic applications, analyzing, evaluating, and troubleshooting and provides high level analysis of multiple applications and/or highly complex applications. The analyst understands and translates the business functionality into the Epic systems configuration and workflow. This team member plans and prepares Cadence test scripts for application testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing.This team member provides Cadence application and technical support for the product line in addition to providing triage and troubleshooting to the product customers. Monitors the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity and appropriately escalates issues/problems. This role provides system analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration as well as testing and training of the product. The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst provides standardization direction for the product aligning the application version and workflow with current standards.Under limited supervision, gathers and analyzes user needs for developing and modifying applications in the healthcare environment. Analyzes complex results, proposes solutions and/or recommendations in addition to building, configuring and/or modifying applications using existing application tools. The role also provides complex application support, writes documentation and specifications.The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of Epic System’s Cadence software and serves as a liaison between end users and Epic implementation staff. Conducts regular day-to-day communication with Epic’s installation team, reviews the software, analyzes business operations, and works with Epic vendor, project team(s), business representatives, subject matter experts, and end users to tailor the system to fit the organization’s needs. The Analyst routinely performs in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues and is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that are used in conjunction with Epic applications, and designs, builds, tests, installs and maintains those solutions.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a health, science, or business field, or an equivalent level of professional experience required.Four years industry related experience in a IS/Clinical setting (Healthcare/Health Services, Information Services) or within applicable area in healthcare operations, with a minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience in information applications, including performing programming or applications analysis, or equivalent. Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations, and/or financial software (Patient Access) along with understanding the technical environment of product lines for which they are responsible.Two or more years of experience working on Epic Cadence/Prelude and configuration with success taking Cadence/Prelude from build to ‘go live’ are highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesDesign, validate and confirm new or changed functionality with the Epic environment that meets customer specifications. Validates the designing for each application assigned, under the control of the change management process and user development request.Understand and translate the business functionality into Epic system configuration and workflow validations.Work with the team leadership to create detailed application designs that conform to application architecture guidelines.Develop and modify system configurations that meet design requirements.Provide complex qualitative and quantitative analysis on data and information collected as part of application requirement gathering.Analyze system requirements and determine system functional specificationsPrioritize system build efforts.Performs and coordinates application analysis and impact analysis of new or different applications, processes or changes.Work closely with business users and application team to design, build and execute a comprehensive integration and user acceptance test plan and scripts. Coordinates development of application testing scripts and conversion plans. Makes recommendations and provide alternatives with regards to various development and support initiatives.Gather requirements, provide gap analysis and create effective technical solutions for the business needs.Collaborate with vendors, staff and other analysts to resolve outstanding issue relating to design and workflow challenges.Conduct most phases of testing: unit/functional, integration and user acceptance tests.Follow project compliance procedures such as obtaining sign-offs migration to production.Provide input on required processes and schedule dependencies on the overall project roll-out plan.Participates and/or leads projects, estimates costs, time frames, staffing requirements and prepares cost justifications for assigned project.Uses status reports for project oversight.Responsible for and oversees day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions of daily operations. Proactively identify impact of changes upon other applications and downstream systems.Serves as point of contact for resolution of complex application problems.Provides complex application support and guidance to end users and provides technical guidance to less experienced personnel.Prepares written documentation of various types; application documentation, functional specifications, training manuals, status reports, etc. Create and maintain all necessary documentation and training materials for application implementation and changes. Prepares and validates complete applications documentation for operations. Evaluates and instructs/teaches others.CompensationCommensurate with experience.
