Job Description : Banquet Manager @ Mavericks HouseMavericks House is an oceanfront event venue catering to weddings, corporate meetings, and special events. We are looking for an enthusiastic event professional to join our team!OverviewThe Event Coordinator is responsible for assuring the success of all banquet events, while maintaining a profitable operation and high quality products and service levels. He/she is expected to communicate with clients through email and phone; maintain revenue and budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: RequiredAt least 3 years prior supervisory experience in related fields required.PreferredPrevious serving and/or bartending experiencePrevious use of POS system & Catering softwareGeneral Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent company data.Technical Skills: Knowledge of various food service styles; knowledge of specific room set-up styles; knowledge of organizing service and relay in detailed B.E.O.’s; knowledge of staffing guidelines/requirements for various types of banquet functions; ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding via email, phone and in person; ability to compute basic mathematical calculations; familiarity with food and beverage cost controls; familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools for Banquets.Duties & Functions· Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.· Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of banquet department.· Supervise all banquet personnel when team members are onsite.· Work with other Banquet Team Managers and keep them informed of F&B changes or issues as they arise.· Keep your immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring her attention.· Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.· Monitor quality of service in banquet operations.· Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws and health and sanitation regulations.· Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with company standards.· Be involved in and/or conduct departmental training.· Coordinate all banquet related food and beverage requirements with the appropriate departments.· Review menu & service with Banquet Manager, FOH team and Banquet Chef.· Maintain up to date details on banquet functions and communicate to supervisors.· Conduct ongoing training of all staff to maintain standards of service.· Make personal contact with guests and assist them with any requests.· Supervise proper tabulation of all banquet checks and ensure that all checks are presented to guests for signature.· Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas.· Generate and oversee banquet set-up assignments.· Ensure inspection of all banquet areas for cleanliness and maintenance on a regular basis.· Control and maintain all service equipment· Ensure overall guest satisfaction.· Assist Event Manager & Director of Events with sales calls, inquiries & tours.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:Candidate must be vaccinatedEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)Shift availability:Day Shift (Preferred)Night Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
