Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is currently seeking a Financial Reporting Manager 1 to join our diverse professionals in McLean, VA. The selected candidate will become a part of our Sector Headquarters Financial Reporting team.
This position will work directly with and report to the Manager 3 of Financial Reporting to manage the monthly close process and the preparation of quarterly financial close deliverables. This high impact role will work closely with sector, division and program business management teams.
Position responsibilities and duties include:
Manage the preparation and submission of sector monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables
Manage the coordination and consolidation of sector financial statements
Collaborate with division financial reporting teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close process
Assist with the review of the of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages
Assist in the preparation and/or review of financial statement analytics and other quarterly management reports
Provide audit support related to SOX, internal and external financial statement audits
Execute the operation of Financial Reporting SOX controls and maintain the Financial Reporting department’s SOX documentation and evidence of the operation of controls
Support leadership team with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross functional collaboration within the organization
Develop, coach, and evaluate one or more direct reports, providing on-the-job training, prioritizing tasks, and fostering a team environment
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Experience with financial statements and general accounting principles
Must have the ability to work on-site in McLean, Virginia
Preferred Qualifications
Certified public accountant
Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse and/or Hyperion Financial Management
Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment
Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions
Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience

Salary Range: $98,800 USD – $148,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
