about this team
Reporting to the VP of Global Distribution, the General Manager of the Distribution Center is responsible for overseeing all DC operations within one location. They lead the DC operations teams, ensuring efficient DC operations and SLA attainment, all while hitting their key Safety, Service, Quality, and Cost goals. PLUS – driving employee engagement and enhancing our culture and employee experience. The General Manager contributes to the annual business plan,and manages to a budget that effectively allocates resources to meet and exceed financial and business objectives. They act as a coach to the Warehouse Operations Leaders on their development in order to build their talent pipeline. They do this by actively developing their people through vision and goals, coaching and feedback.
a day in the life: what you’ll do
Oversees all inbound, outbound, returns, and all support operations to meet specific company SLAs or KPIs
Effectively helps to set, and manages the annual budget to meet or exceed set targets
Works cross-functionally with key partners in our Store Support Centers, Global Fulfillment, other Distribution Centers and Retail Operations to effectively achieve or exceed goals and produce outcomes in line with the company vision
Implement, teach and lead lean methodology to drive operational efficiency
Manages employee performance for Warehouse Operations Managers including but not limited to vacation, employee separations, annual review, merit process, compensation and documentation
Partners with cross functional departments to manage Strategic Initiatives to drive improved business results
Leads an organization 100-250+ with engagement and inclusion at the forefront
Responsible for the successful outcome of all aspects of talent management within their organization including but not limited to workforce planning, hiring, performance management, learning and development and offboarding.
qualifications
7-10 years of Distribution Center leadership experience, responsible for multiple teams in a fast paced environment including sortation, conveyance, automation, MHE and WMS systems
4-year college degree, masters preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently
Flexible with schedule which could include nights, weekends and holidays
