The Human Resources Business Partner of Company Ops provides HR consultation and support to above store leaders of the corporate stores. This position carries out responsibilities in the areas of employment law compliance, performance management, employee relations, and human resources policy implementation, training, and administration. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of Marco’s.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Be a champion and role model for Marco’s Cultural Beliefs
Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee communications and/or meetings.
Collect and maintain HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, etc. to help make recommendations for improvement to management.
Provide guidance to management and employees by handling questions, resolving work related problems, and interpreting and administering human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
Partner with management to determine talent development and retention solutions.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to above store leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Actively participate on project teams and solutions design in support of Marco’s Talent Management initiatives.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Escalate and work with legal counsel on legal matters and work to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Partner with CBLs and Directors of Company Operations to ensure 100% legal compliance (minor labor, new hire requirements, wage and hour, etc.) of store employees.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
4+ years’ experience in Human Resources with knowledge of employment law and practices.
Experience working in a restaurant, hospitality or retail setting in a HR or management capacity
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Marco’s HRIS and talent management systems.
Preferred:
Professional Human Resources certification (i.e. PHR or SHRM) preferred.
Physical Requirement(s):
Able to travel up to 25% of time.
