Job Description : The Insurance Specialist is a new position that will help our Admissions team verify insurance quickly and correctly! Help Embark tackle our Big Hairy Audacious Goal of leading the way in driving adolescent and young adult anxiety, depression, and suicide from the all-time highs of today to all-time lows by 2028.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial Verification of Benefits (VOB) for families requesting admissionsReview intake information to provide consultation to team if patient meets insurance compliance for admission.Contact payor source prior to admission to obtain admission approvalMaintain accurate and precise log of patient referrals and referral outcomesDemonstrate knowledge of psychiatric and mental health disorders and terminologyEffectively determine appropriate level of need and care required.Demonstrate knowledge of commercial payor regulations and guidelines regarding reimbursement of services.Educate staff, families, and referral partners about applicable services at EmbarkMaintain liaison relationships with UR department by providing information and education on services, payer issues and related areas.Participate in UR meetingsMeasure effectiveness of VOB and Preauthorization strategiesQUALIFICATIONS: One year in behavioral health experience preferredLPC, PLPC, LCSW or LMSW credentials preferred2 years of insurance experience requiredProficient in Salesforce CRMCORE COMPETENCIES: Action-oriented personality that embraces new opportunities and challenges with an ability to adapt in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment quickly.Actively share work in progress and embrace team feedback.Ability to operate independently to drive results.Honesty, integrity, and cultural alignment.Ability to effectively prioritize and manage your workload.Effective verbal and written communicator with an emphasis on quality and accuracy.Professional team player with strong detail, organization, communications, and interpersonal skills.Embark is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
