Job Description : Job Title: Marketing and Social Media CoordinatorLocation: Anchorage or FairbanksFLSA Status: Non-ExemptStatus: Part Time, PermanentReports to: Executive DirectorPOSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Armed Services YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the military community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator will provide support for on-going organizational marketing plan and work toward achieving strategic and long term branch marketing goals. Work as the communicating liaison between the marketing team and the staff in positioning the ASYMCA as a “charity of choice” for the investment of donations within the local community through execution of a strategic marketing plan. Ensure the ASYMCA of Alaska is recognized among military members and their families.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Serves as a photographer, or recruits volunteers as necessary to capture photographs and videos in order to ensure events and programs and events are documented, and to create meaningful marketing collateral.2. Provides outreach opportunities statewide to connect military members and their families with our branding.3. Develops and monitors all social media endeavors.4. Content creation, including graphic design, editing, proofing, and promoting social campaigns.5. Coordinates social calendar with event calendar (both military and ASYMCA events)6. Acts as liaison for public relations initiatives.7. Develops strategies to increase volunteer involvement at all levels of marketing, communications and financial support.8. Monitor and enforce branding in all facilities. Work with printing process and ensure installation of correct branding and signage at all locations.9. Attend local and statewide events to provide social media coverage10. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.2. Two to four years related experience preferred.3. Minimum age requirement applies; minimum age of 21.4. Must be an organized self-starter who works well independently as well as on a team. In addition, must be customer service oriented with good phone, interpersonal and writing skills.5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.6. Proficiency in MS Office and digital design platforms is required.7. Knowledge of social media platforms is required.8. Experience with public relations and working with media outlets is preferred.9. Experience with military lifestyles.10. Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:1. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise marketing activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).2. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.3. Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.4. May occasionally be expected to work at special events outside normal working hours, including some weekends.5.
