Position : Operations Analyst / Cost Modeling
Job Description : Clarus Consulting LLC is seeking a business operations analyst to work with us in developing financial models for use by Clarus and client management. Each model captures business activity volumes, varying revenue rates, and comprehensive operational costs for multiple tasks and lines of business. Numerous financial modeling iterations are required as the client identifies additional data elements and operational variables for modeling and as their understanding of task costs expands. Financial models are to be developed in Microsoft Excel with extensive data input variables and dependencies.This role requires assessing and measuring the financial impact of business and contractual variables; developing financial models for business tasks and events; and helping forecast operational scenarios. The client engagement team is vested in improving the organization’s understanding and managing of cost accounting practices across multiple lines of business. Operational and financial modeling developed during this engagement must support broader, macro-views the organization currently understands and maintains.Clarus seeks an independent contractor to fulfill this role, which is part-time, with hours ranging from 15 to 45 weekly, typically scheduled in advance. The overall assignment is expected to last one year, with opportunity for the engagement to extend for one to two years beyond initial model development. Remote work is primary work effort, but some office time is expected for ongoing collaboration, training, etc.Job RequirementsCandidates should possess strong analytical skills with an attention to details and a focus on accuracy, understand cost accounting principles, maintain a system development lifecycle mindset, and have good written and verbal communication skills. Other Requirements include:· Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, at or near expert capabilities on the functions and inherit structures of Excel and how this software can be used to upload data or results into other, typical business software.· Three to five years of experience with working with business accounting software or techniques to organize, capture and report on organizational cost management principles.· Proven ability to develop multi-layered cost management-based modeling with Excel, capturing task dependency costs, such as volume projections and fixed / variable labor cost components, and scenario modeling.· Ability to develop user documentation for ongoing client use for the functioning and maintenance of the model(s).· Ability to function independently, as well as part of a team, with cross-functional training and support provided as needed. Good organizational skills needed to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within established deadlines and schedules.Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $50.00 – $85.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Covid protocols supported and accommodated to meet particular needs.
