Position : Part-Time Gallery Assistant
Job Description : A contemporary art gallery in NYC is seeking a part-time gallery assistant to work closely with the director on the day to day operations of the gallery. The assistant will work 3 full days (10am-6pm) per week: 2 weekdays and Saturday. All candidates MUST be able to work Saturdays. The ideal schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday but the gallery can be flexible about the weekday availability for the right candidate.Gallery assistant will greet visitors and help with all aspects of managing the gallery, including but not limited to: website updates, inventory management, installation, deliveries, research, writing and/or editing content, help with opening receptions etc.Ideal candidate will be motivated self-starter who is eager to learn more about the operations of a contemporary art gallery. All candidates must be reliable, punctual, polished, and professional.Job Type: Part-timePay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:All staff is vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19. We wear masks while working, limit the number of visitors at one time, and have hand sanitizer and disinfectant readily available.Work Location: One location
