Position : Principal Financial Analyst (Remote work opportunity)

Job Description : Located along the beautiful white sandy beaches of Florida’s panhandle, BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Principal Financial Analyst with prior production and government contracting experience to support the Sensor and Electronic Solutions (SES) business unit within Air Space Force Solutions (ASFS) business area. This job will be to support the Instrumentation Range Support Program (IRSP).

Looking for a well-experienced candidate to apply accounting and finance principles in the analysis and evaluation of the prior, current and future financial conditions of ongoing and projected projects, programs or operations to determine status, performance, expenditures and revenues. Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and performs analysis of financial statements. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. Will monitor business performance by unit and product line. Analyzes financial performance, including comparison of actual results against planned results.
Prepare, Review, and analyze financial documentation such as cost performance reports /CDRL, and contract funds status reports. Evaluates program or project status based on cost analysis and performance assessment techniques
Prepare financial forecasts in support of Annual Operating Plan, Integrated Business Plans, and Quarterly Business Review submissions for an $80M program
Provide timely financial guidance and analysis to Program Managers and Directors to detect program problems early and prevent continued risk to program health
Complete and review monthly Contract Status Report (CSR) and Project Performance Review (PPR) decks for Life Cycle Management (LCM) required programs
Reviews funding and expenditures to ensure at-risk cost is covered via approvals
Maintain the IRSP II Multi-job Allocation (MJA) setup in Deltek CostPoint
Reviews invoicing prior to submission to customer in an effort to drive accuracy and timeliness into process
Prepare reports and presentations analyzing contractor status to include performance/trend evaluations, independent cost-to-complete projections, and identification of potential problem areas
Examine contractor internal data both to validate consistency of reports to the government and reasonableness of budgets allocated to cost accounts. May conduct fact-finding sessions, if required
Prepares month end revenue review to ensure project setup and revenue calculation is correct
Analyze assigned tasks to determine estimates of man-hours and material needed for completion. Monitors costs of tasks to prevent cost overruns. Reviews and audits operating budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs
Perform general ledger account reconciliations to ensure program performance, especially unbilled receivables
Attend production meetings as the Finance POC and takes actionable intelligence
Continually seek ways to improve existing processes to ensure service excellence
Other duties as assigned
Relocation is not available for this position, however a telecommute option is possible for the right candidate.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Typically a Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills :

Deep understanding of Deltek Costpoint ERP and Cognos Reporting Software.

Knowledge of Billing Cost Reimbursable programs.
Experience with Hyperion Planner, Essbase, and SmartView are required.
Experience with DoD Contracts as a Prime Contractor.

Excellent command of MS Office Suite to include: MS Word, Excel (including formula creation/validation, V-Lookup, and other calculation and date mining skills), Powerpoint, Outlook.

Experience in program finance/program control and government contracting for multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, FFP-LOE) with a strong focus on CPFF.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with Wide Area Work Flow entry and research/reporting, DFAS, ETC development, Program cost control analysis.
