Job Description : EvergreenHealth is seeking a Privacy Analyst to join our dedicated Corporate Compliance team!

The Privacy Analyst works under the direction of the Corporate Compliance, Information Security, Privacy and Internal Audit Officer. Responsible for the daily operations of the District’s privacy program to promote a corporate culture that fosters ethical and compliant behavior and provides the basis for ensuring adequate privacy controls and compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements. This is accomplished through responsibility for policy development and revision, auditing user access to clinical applications, monitoring organizational compliance with privacy and security policies, intake, research and investigation of privacy complaints. Manages and tracks all business associate agreements. Assists in the design of privacy policy education, training and awareness.
Investigates privacy complaints and collaborates with other departments (e.g., IT, Human Resources, Patient Relations, Clinics) to ensure privacy issues are mitigated. Maintains privacy incident tracking system to ensure incidents are documented accurately and addressed in a timely manner.
Works collaboratively with Contract Attorney and Privacy Officer to ensure appropriate Business Associate Agreements (BAA) are in place. Maintains BAA tracking system and reviews existing BAAs as necessary.
Develops and maintains an auditing plan to ensure EvergreenHealth’s compliance with federal and state privacy rules and regulations. Conducts onsite privacy walk-through audits and prepares written reports on audit findings.
Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the privacy program.
Conducts access audits to ensure appropriate use of clinical applications.
Manages external user access to clinical applications and works with Contract Attorney to ensure appropriate agreements are in place.
Assists in the design of privacy program education, training and awareness.
Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:

Bachelor’s degreeThree (3) or more years working in Health Information Management or privacy position
-Demonstrated understanding of State and Federal privacy laws -Demonstrated expertise in CMS requirements and JC standards

Certified in health care privacy or become certified within one (1) year of hire
DESIRED for the position:

Master’s degree
Must be an active member of the American Health Information Management Association or Health Care Compliance Association
