Job Description : The Role: US CMBS Rating Analyst (Document Review Analyst)

The Location: Centennial, CO | Dallas, TX | Chicago, IL | Boston, MA

The Team:
The U.S CMBS team is part of the broader Structured Finance Group at S&P Global Ratings. The team assigns ratings and publishes research commentaries for the use of Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities investors.

The Impact:
The Rating Analyst will support primary analysts by reviewing the structural provisions of document terms in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions for consistency with our criteria and identifying unique deal features or provisions. The successful candidate will also assist surveillance analysts in reviewing amendments to existing CMBS transaction documents as part of our surveillance of existing CMBS ratings. Training will be provided to help the Rating Analyst gain an understanding of our criteria and methodology, as well as how the criteria and methodology are typically represented in the transaction documents. The Rating Analyst will also be responsible for supporting the analysts in discussions with transaction parties including the arrangers, servicers and their counsel as needed. The Rating Analyst will be expected to identify and highlight trends in the document terms that may be relevant to our view of the credit risk.

Responsibilities:
Reviewing transaction documents;

Providing written feedback to the analysts on the transaction structure;

Highlighting consistencies and inconsistencies with our criteria;

Supporting the analysts in discussions with transaction parties including the arrangers, servicers and their counsel as needed; and

Highlighting trends in the document terms that may be relevant to our view of the credit risk.

What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance or economics.

Recent graduates or those with 1+ years of relevant work experience in loan servicing, operations, finance, research, accounting, mortgage lending, or commercial or consumer credit

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, presentation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.

Basic proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) is essential.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy of data.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (US ONLY)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46,800 to $97,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
