Job Description : Receptionist – SBWC: Salary Range: $15.00 – $16.50 an hour

Job Summary:
Answer and direct telephone calls, schedule appointments, process paperwork for daily clinic operations, collect patient payments, assist and direct all contact, provide excellent customer service, maintain confidentiality.

Education/Experience/License/Certification:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of one-year experience in a medical office
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law.
Required Travel:
Occasional travel may be required including day-to-day local travel.

Experience in appointment scheduling.
Essential to have ability to count money, make change and reconcile daily collections.

Essential to have ability to understand verbal information/instruction, exchange verbal information and to present information/instruction verbally.

Essential to have ability to reason mathematically, and to have analytical and problem-solving skills.
A working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding helpful.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc and School Bases Wellness Centers.
Answer multiple phone lines for medical, and handle calls according to procedures. Process patient calls through the NextGen electronic messaging and tasking.
Accurately schedule all necessary appointments for medical.
Assist patients and visitors in obtaining assistance throughout the Center.
Process patients through check-in for daily appointments and update demographic and insurance information.
Process necessary paperwork, (schedules, labels) for the clinical operations of patient care.
Enroll new patients into the system in order to obtain necessary screening and medical appointments.
Provide Patient Information Form (PIF) for patients with private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or 100% payees.
Collect and record daily monies when needed and reconcile end of day. Responsible for maintaining a cash bag.
Process patients through check-out system.
Prepare end of day paperwork.
Open and close clinic reception daily.
Prepare daily patient count and reconcile monthly.
Obtain patient’s signature on medical records release forms.
Distribute interoffice mail, and other clinical information from the briefcase.
Maintain medical records department, including preparation of electronic charts, all scanning, all copying and correspondence. .
Assist scheduling and processing patients through the registration process.
Work with spreadsheets, database systems and word processors as required for data collection and reports.
Provide coverage at all PCHC sites on holidays and during extended hours as needed.
Attend departmental, General Staff and Staff Development meetings.
Perform general office duties such as recordkeeping, , copying, scanning, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Attend after hour’s school-based functions as delegated.
Provide School Based Wellness Consent packets to all Parent/ Guardians, Staff, and Adults as needed.
