Ref #: 13390 How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Deltas Human Resources team is developing and launching the Employee Relations Center of Excellence aimed at driving further accountability to the corporations values and Rules of the Road. We are looking for a Grade 7, Specialist to partner with HRBPs, Legal, Leaders, CSSC, EO and others to conduct investigative fact finding for all qualifying complaints related to arrest record alerts for enrolled employees. This individual will collect, compile, and analyze facts produced during an employee investigation to offer recommended actions. This role will be integral in supporting and driving unbiased and objective investigations and outcomes.
Primary Functions: Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks)
Coordinates with originating parties across multiple channels through which issues are submitted to COE (e.g. Hotline) to ensure all intake information is correctly documented.
Conducts intake interview if necessary, as well as additional interviews with all involved parties.
Reviews all supporting documentation available, and performs research activities related to the case, if necessary, to inform decision making (e.g. reflecting on outcome of prior similar cases, external research).
Liaises with Corp Security and Equal Opportunity, as needed, to leverage their expertise.
Based on thorough analysis, makes recommended investigative conclusions, coaching, disciplinary action or other viable action steps.
Partners with involved HRBPs and managers to counsel them on needed information as well as potential disciplinary action.
Completes proper template for any disciplinary action/coaching and reviews next steps with people manager.
Coordinates with Employee Relations leadership, as needed, to align on expectations/approach, and to receive approval on recommended resolution.
Throughout all activities, operates within case management system to ensure interview notes, supporting documentations, findings, and recommended outcome are properly documented.
Enjoys working in a high- profile environment with fluid priorities, ambiguity and aggressive timelines.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
The successful candidate will be proactive and will have outstanding listening skills, proven consultative skills, and the ability to handle information with sensitivity and confidentiality.
2+ years of functional experience supporting a diverse client population.
Undertaking, leading, or reporting on investigations is highly desirable (e.g., Employment, Audit, Quality Control, RPU, CSSC. Etc).
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple requests with varying timelines.
Must have a proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
Previous experience with relationship and consensus building
Strong communication/presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across all functional areas and geographies, particularly at executive levels including business/function heads and their directs.
Demonstrated partnership development and influencing others without direct authority, with sensitivity to geographical and cultural differences.
Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in the face of high case volumes and extremely time sensitive matters.
Consistent demonstration of ownership and accountability (driven to do the right thing).
Ability to thrive in a complex organization and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, intense environment.
Positive employee approach and believer in employee advocacy.
Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations (can de-escalate conflict).

Significant knowledge and application (or ability to quickly learn) of Delta employment policies and practices and employment law and regulations.
Advanced degree, JD, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations.
Working knowledge of US Employment laws and regulations at the state and federal levels.
