Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree with coursework in graphics, design, advertising or a related field. Two years experience as a designer in a design group or advertising agency with emphasis on both printed and digital media or a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Assists in the design and production of high quality, creative artwork for digital media, printing and presentations using computer graphics hardware and software that support the advancement of distance education, learning technologies, and Sam Houston State University.
Primary Responsibilities
Designs and produces a variety of print and digital media. Collaborates with muti-media service team members and clients to create design products. Produces design work within production formats and gathers or generates necessary media assets. Executes conceptualized design products and prepares final design for production and distribution. Works within online multi-media services to assist administrators, online operations, and other clients in developing graphic resources, visual presentations, print collateral, screen media, and online course content media for faculty. Cooperates with key university stakeholders and team members to maintain consistent visuals. Occasionally assists with live-event support, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Working technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications associated with publishing, graphics, and digital media. Experience using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to establish layouts and create graphics for a variety of print and digital formats. Ability to creatively solve problems, think critically, and collaborate on simultaneous projects with a variety of professionals, administrators, and support staff in a fast-paced environment.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
