Job Description : Description:
Providence is calling a Staffing Specialist (Nursing Resource Pool, Night shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
$1,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment – this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.
In this position, you will:
Updates daily unit staffing worksheets, determines staffing needs of the nursing units, assigns available staff according to guidelines and/or needs articulated by charge nurses, and maintains constant contact with unit charge nurses in order to respond to changing staffing needs. Reviews daily staffing worksheets for upcoming staffing needs and develops a proactive plan for covering vacancies with the House Supervisors and charge nurses. Perform low census call off as needed.
Logs absence, communicates with unit charge nurse, and arranges for replacement
Updates employee information, staffing changes, reviews daily staffing worksheets, reports concerns to unit charge nurses or House Supervisors
Prepares and prints daily nursing unit staffing worksheets
Communicates and works under the direction of the House Supervisors. Communicates and maintains regular updates with the charge nurses and staff about staffing issues or concerns. Attends daily Service Operations Center (SOC) huddles and daily bed meetings.

One (1) year data entry experience.

Staffing, scheduling or similar experience
