Job Description : Statewide Director – Pathways For Single Moms Reports to: VP of Community Impact Status: Permanent, Full-time, Non-exempt Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Community Impact, the Statewide Director – Pathways for Single Moms is responsible for the support and implementation of the Pathways program across Arizona. Programs will be located across the state – one each in Southern Arizona, Central Arizona and Northern Arizona.The Statewide Director – Pathways for Single Moms, will work in close collaboration with the designated Pathways program staff across the state at each of the three sites, as well as the Arizona Department of Economic Security staff, evaluation staff at education institutions, community college staff, non-profit organizations, technical advisors, local and state government agencies, and industry leaders to ensure the successful implementation of the program.Program Summary Pathways for Single Moms is a two-generation program launched as a pilot program in Pima County in January 2020. The program supports single mothers working toward earning a one- year credit bearing certificate in a career field that pays a self-sufficient wage at community colleges in Arizona. These Fast Track career certificate options (typically 12-18 months) are already established at local community colleges and in predominately male dominated and high demand fields. This program is fully funded to be expanded to three sites across Arizona supported by three Program staff at each site. The program will continue to offer direct financial support to mothers in monthly stipend payments, emergency funds, and cover tuition, books, technology needs, as well as offer childcare scholarships.ResponsibilitiesCo-create and facilitate training for site program staff. This position will finalize training materials building from lessons learned and processes/materials already in useAssess and analyze program efficacy and efficiency to include financial and project managementDevelop strategic guide and manual to support expansion of program across the stateMonitor implementation of planned activities. A framework for monitoring and evaluation has been created and this position will co-create and finalize the final plan to be set as a guide for program staff. Additional elements may need to be addedSupport program staff in the financial management of program, including: setting metrics based on budget agreements and support data collection and reporting for SNAP CAN provider reimbursementSupport and develop strategic partnerships by participating in workshops and public information eventsProvide guidance to program staff in executing programmatic processes, procedures and best practices (i.e., recruitment, data collection, stipend distribution and communication strategies)Serve as liaison amongst stakeholder agencies, community colleges and evaluatorsCoordinate key meetings, conferences, and training under the project, and prepare reports for funders and executive meetingsAs needed, support the Director of Program engagement with WFSA’s partnership withAZ Department of Economic Security on legislation that would have an impact on program participantsTrack and support synthesis of lessons learned and best practices related to program managementCoach, guide and support program staff on preparing for informational presentations, interviews and panel discussionsWork directly with Communications department prior to release of all promotional materialsSkills and Qualifications Knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms) and WordPress or similar softwareCommitment to women’s issues, and a strong desire to work in a non-profit setting and to have an impact on the lives of women and girls of all identitiesAbility to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information for use in reportingAbility to plan, manage and implement program needs and demonstrate leadership skillsAbility to develop and deliver both oral and written presentationsAbility to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of participants and/or collaborative partnersAbility to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgmentsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse communityExperience working with and leading a diverse staff. Ability to lead, evaluate, and develop a diverse team of a high functioning multi-racial workforceAt least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in a relevant field, such as public health, grants, or social servicesA demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; culturally competent with respect to issues such as racial, cultural, religious, sexual, and gender identityPassion for women’s issuesWorking Environment This job currently operates in a virtual/remote environment, but will eventually return to a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones, as well as digital platforms including Zoom, Google Drive and Microsoft Teams.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear and communicate sufficiently to exchange accurate information. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 10 lbs.Travel Required to be in attendance in person at monthly staff meetings and annual Board Retreat, and other occasional in-person meetings as directed. While this position is currently remote, the final candidate will need to reside within the state of Arizona.Salary and Benefits This is a full-time position that is currently remote. Salary is expected to start at or around $70,000, with regular opportunities for review and enhancement.
