Position : Terminal Manager
Job Description : H&M International Transportation, leader in intermodal operations throughout the US is seeking a Terminal Manager to work out of our Intermodal Facility in the Norfolk, VA. This facility’s key management position provides leadership and oversight of the day-to-day operation and demands of this 24/7 intermodal rail and chassis maintenance facility.The qualified candidate must have prior management experience with a proven ability to manage in a quick paced environment while applying that experience in a professional manner. Qualified candidate must possess skills to adapt to changing priorities coupled with a very strong work ethic, an ability to manage union and non-union employees and handle varying situations.Responsibilities: Take a “hands-on approach” and stay active within the terminal to be aware of all aspects of the operation.Develop, execute and reinforce Safety Initiatives and Programs ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Stay current with Standard Operating Procedures, rules and regulations involving the intermodal rail terminal and employees.Responsible for hiring and training new employees.Scheduling workforce based on customer goals to hit stringent deadlines.Maintain profitability of the intermodal operation.Qualifications: Prior management experience dealing with demands of a major intermodal rail or related facility.Ability to effectively respond to inquiries regarding all aspects of intermodal rail facility.Previous experience managing a unionized workforce with an understanding of contract administration.Proven record of teambuilding with proactive approach for dealing with employees to resolve issues and complaints.We are an equal opportunity employer and offer a competitive benefits package.Successful applicant will be required to obtain an e-railsafe badge by passing the required criminal background check.Military personnel are encouraged to apply.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental Pay:Bonus payApplication Question(s):Must qualify for an e-railsafe Badge by passing required background checkEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Operations Management: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Work Location: One location
