Position : Thrift Store Manager
Job Description : The primary focus of this position is to provide operational, financial, and organizational management of the Sultan Thrift Store operations, with the end goal of supporting the mission of VOAWWs Community Resource Centers.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for the daily operation of the Sultan Thrift Store and supervision of staff and volunteers:
Help set and ensure achievement of budgeted revenue goals and monitor to ensure efficient and economically sound operations.
Direct overall activities of the store. Evaluate procedures and make recommendations for increased savings and cost reductions.
Directly manage volunteers and interns and promote effective communication on all levels.
Coach and mentor volunteers and interns. Develop and train the workforce, including volunteers, to ensure effective job performance.
Plan work schedules to ensure proper distribution of assignments and, adequate staffing, space, and facilities for the performance of duties.
Oversee the processing of donated items; manage the rotation of items and the disposal of donated items in a timely fashion.
Oversee compliance of interns and volunteers with all established agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safekeeping of agency funds and property, personnel practices, security, theft prevention, and record-keeping procedures.
Maintain safe working conditions for staff, volunteers, and customers; able to resolve safety concerns in an appropriate and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven ability to lead, direct, coach, and support staff in a retail setting.
AA or BA degree in Business Administration, Merchandising Management related field; or 2-3 years of qualifying experience in a retail or secondary retail sales.
Knowledge of retail and store management including personnel, inventories, cash accounting techniques, operation of cash registers, and basic security and safety, among others.
Conflict resolution experience is required. Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices is preferred.
Ability to effectively train and coach staff and volunteers including but not limited to; customer service, safety, cashiering, and other key aspects of the retail environment.
Skilled in the basic organization to conduct meetings, to prioritize, track and complete assigned tasks.
Skill and ability in interaction with customers and knowledge of customer service including handling customer complaints and resolving disputes.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Basic ability to navigate Word and Excel.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Must be able to reach above the head and perform repetitive movements.
Must be able to drive or have reliable transportation.
Covid 19 Vaccination: VOAWW requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) virus with an FDA-approved vaccine. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days after the final vaccination dose has been administered.
