Our Traffic Control Maintainers are responsible for placing, removing and repairing temporary and permanent traffic control devices and coordinating traffic control flaggers at work sites.

Responsibilities
Drive various vehicles
Place signs, barricades and traffic cones
Coordinate scheduling of traffic control flaggers
Follow all safety precautions to protect motorists and construction workers
Load and unload equipment and materials
Move construction equipment
Perform vehicle checks to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Perform other duties as requested by leadership
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year traffic control experience is preferred
Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles
Ability to comprehend specific directions so as to ensure safe and OSHA compliant practices
Skill to operate equipment in close proximity to workers and underground utilities
Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times
Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances
Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first
Working Environment
Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Requirements
Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations and no DUIs within a two year rolling period
Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
Work with a heightened awareness within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late when necessary
