Job Description : Air Compressor Solutions (ACS) is a full service distributor for Ingersoll Rand, Doosan Equipment and other equipment lines. We cover a wide range of tools, air compressors and generator products. This position will consist of installing new equipment at customer locations, general maintenance of equipment at customer locations, troubleshooting and repair of equipment, evaluation of equipment after rental equipment is returned and general repair of equipment at our facility.ACS is a growing, family owned company that has been in operation for over 30 years in the Permian Basin. This position will be for a highly motivated person with a positive attitude and a desire to exceed our customer’s expectations. You are a critical extension of and implementer for the president of the company. Therefore, you champion the company’s vision, core values, leader behaviors, and brand promise as well as serve as the strategic leader of the development and delivery of the company’s strategic plan.Overall, you lead, coach, and transform the company into a high performing, efficient operation that develops the personnel and ethically grows the business.Job Success ObjectivesYour success in this role requires the development, transformation, and nurture of the desired company culture. It requires your personal example of excellence as you engage the personnel to fulfill the strategic plan and goals of the company. It also means that you seek healthy innovative solutions and standardize processes to transform current operations into consistent high-performing growth.Since you lead the business under the direction of the President, your success depends on achieving the following performance objectives. Most of the objectives have a number of days to implement but all of the following expect consistent, long-term (12 months minimum) delivery of each objective1. Effectively collaborate and stay on the same page with the President. Within the first 10 days, determine 1 or 2 clear metrics that consistently demonstrate that you understand the President’s ideas and desired direction – without being a “Yes man.” For example, whether the President approves of your daily, weekly, and monthly plans. Your role is not only to provide ideas, but to implement the ideas of the President so that the President can remain strategic instead of tactical. It is also critical to push for and stand firm on ideas that the President may not like but are best for the company.2. Lead all areas of the company under the direction of the President. Immediately, on the first day of employment, you are the second in command for the company. All areas of the business (Operations, Human Resources, Financial, Sales, Marketing, Branches, etc.) are 100% your responsibility for their growth and performance. Your leadership will exemplify the Purpose, Leader Behaviors, Core Values, and Brand Promise of the company. Your leadership will be result-oriented as well as relationship-oriented with the proper proportion of each for each situation.3. Establish weekly and monthly communication processes that reinforce the company Purpose, Core Values, Leader Behaviors, and Brand Promise. Within the first 30 days establish consistent communication to all employees highlighting the company high-performance culture that is built upon the Purpose, Core Values, Leader Behaviors, and Brand Promise. Within the first 60 days develop methods to gather data on how well employees know and apply the Purpose, Core Values, and Brand Promise.4. Develop a 3-to-5-year strategic plan for the company with a “rolling” 12-month financial projection and budget. Within the first 60 days coordinate and lead the development of a 3-to-5-year strategic plan covering all functions and locations of the company. The plan will also have a calendar identifying the regular times for review, adjustment, and recreation. Additionally, the plan will have a 12-month projection that is prepared each month for the following 12-months. That projection will be used to measure progress and adjust the strategic plan.5. Create an easy to understand, visual performance management system. Within the first 60 days, implement a system that provides simple, visual, and easy to understand status of the company, department, location, team, and individual goals. The system provides status at least weekly, but prefer daily, for departments and individuals. The management team is held accountable for their team and individual goals with this system.6. Make each branch a leader in our industry for their geographic areas. Within 90 days coordinate the identification and application of clear metrics which demonstrate the branch position in our industry in their geographic area. More specifically, the plan will include at least three key business objectives that demonstrate we are better than our competition. The plan and metrics will measure our ranking when starting the plan and then at the end of the first 12-months. It is essential that the plan includes achievement milestones and dates also.7. Implement a clear, simple, and effective incentive compensation system. Within the first 120 days, orchestrate an objective incentive compensation plan that is aligned with the strategic plan and performance management system. Design of the system will incentivize each individual based on up to three levels – company, department/team/location, and individual performance. The system will have a specified percentage of reward for each of the three levels.8. Own and manage all financial results including Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and Budgets. Within the first 90 days, financial results will be presented to the President and management team within 10 days of the end of the month. Additionally, weekly progress of all key financial metrics for each department, location, and team will be available to the President and management team. Knowledge of the financial and accounting functions of the company are essential to the success of your role.ExperienceThe Vice President for a mid-sized rental and service company needs to have at least 5 to 10 years background, management, and leadership of equipment service, equipment rental, parts sales, inventory, customer service, project economics, personnel management, planning, budgeting, and financial results.Experience in quality control, finance, accounting, and strategic planning are very important.
