Job Description : The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Cannabis Executive Team is looking for a Cannabis Grants Program Supervisor (classification: Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor)) for its Cannabis Restoration Grant Program (CRGP) who has special interest or skills developing and managing a grant program. In this exciting position you would be supporting efforts for the cleanup, remediation, and restoration of environmental damage in watersheds affected by illegal cannabis cultivation and related activities. This position will join a team of highly motivated, conservation-minded scientists working to protect fish and wildlife resources through a state-wide grant program. The incumbent will be required to report to the office at Cannabis Program’s discretion or as needed for special projects. Intermittent travel may be required for grant site inspections, monitoring and meetings with project partners and constituents. Occasional overnight travel required.Desirable QualificationsSkill to: Direct and manage the staff responsible for the activities of the CDFW’s statewide CRGP programs, including natural resources and public trust assets under the jurisdiction of CDFW, assuring that such activities embrace all aspects of real property and resource management including public trust compliance reviews and recommendations involving land use decisions that are environmentally, socially and economically sound. Develop policy; formulate goals and objectives; advise and implement methods of operation to achieve goals; advise CRGP’s staff, other agency personnel and the general public on laws, rules, regulations and the most complex technical aspects of natural resource management; represent the CRGP before public boards, commissions and private groups; develop and recommend positions on legislation; work closely with the staff counsel on complex resource, trust, environmental and management issues.Special Personal Characteristics and Interpersonal SkillsMake sound determinations and/or recommendations; analyze situations accurately and oversee appropriate courses of action; establish and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with representatives of public and private agencies, organized sportsmen groups, and the public; open-mindedness, flexibility and tact.APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 24, 2022How to Apply: We cannot accept application submissions through Indeed.
