*****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.

Hiring Unit: College of Education / Center on Disability Studies
Work Location: Oahu

# of hours per week: up to 19 hours a week / 0.475fte
Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time, not to exceed 01/31/2022
Salary Range: $21 – $27 per hour
Funding: Federal

Continuous recruitment; first review of applications will begin on October 15, 2021. Federal funds to begin approximately November 2021 or soon thereafter. Continuation dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the Principal Investigator, assist with the implementation of Project Hookui III: Na Kumu Alakai and Project Hookui IV: Ohana Lokahi with duties including, but not limited to the following:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and External Evaluator, enter, manage, check, and clean project data including but not limited to consent forms, participant attendance, online participant engagement, and surveys. Securely transmit data in compliance with the UH policy on data security and FERPA.
Organize and manage project files, data and project activities with accuracy; generate data reports efficiently.
Manage and maintain online learning platforms including creating and posting new content, responding to posts and fielding questions on behalf of the projects, and providing technical support.
Coordinate and plan professional development, activities, and community events involving secondary students transitioning to postsecondary education, families, and Hawaii Department of Education educators.
Organize, pack and mail project materials to participants in bulk.
Process technology hardware (computers, tablets, etc.) according to university standards, including loading and updating software and programs, configuring logins, and asset tagging.
Respond efficiently and effectively to all work correspondence (emails and calls) within the team as well as project participants and partners.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public health, social science, business, technology, or related field.
Demonstrated experience entering, managing, checking, cleaning, and securely transmitting data.
Considerable working experience with data and reporting; Ability to be accurate and efficient.
Technologically savvy in the following, but not limited to: Google and Microsoft versions of spreadsheets, documents, and slides; Google Drive; Email, Zoom, Slack, YouTube, Adobe Acrobat and cloud-based services.
Ability to effectively manage and maintain online learning platforms.
Ability to coordinate and plan professional development, activities, and community events.
Experience with the set up, configuration and updates of software and programs for computers and tablets.
Ability to travel independently to various sites/schools across the State of Hawaii in a timely manner.
Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to brainstorm and communicate multiple solutions to problems that arise and effectively communicate these options to the team.
Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible to on-going project changes.
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under the direction of a supervisor.
Ability to work independently, responsibly, and collaboratively.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, social work, public health, social science, business, technology, or related field.
Experience working on research projects.
Experience working on grant funded projects/initiatives.
Successful experience with project audits (internal or external).
Experience with Apple technology; ability to configure and update software and programs.
Familiar with the University of Hawaii data security compliance/policies.
Ability to maintain/edit website content.
Experience working in Native Hawaiian communities.
Experience working in or with the Hawaii Department of Education.
Experience working with parents of high school students.
