Summary:
At Tech-Keys we like to promote from within, almost all our techs and managers began as interns and worked their way up through the company. Growing the company in this way allows us to hire candidates based on their personality, drive, and culture fit with our core values. Technical skills do not play a leading factor in our evaluation process, as we are confident that we can teach those skills to anyone with the drive to succeed.
There will be a 90 day review period to determine if you are a good fit for our company long term. Upon successfully completing the internship you will be evaluated to become a full member of the Tech-Keys team. Our goal with the internship is to find the right candidates that we can build into a tier 2 helpdesk engineer over the course of 2 years.
This journey is not for the faint of heart!
You will be learning new technologies at a quick pace and continue to be pushed forward to the next step when you are proficient in what you were previously taught. You will learn more in a year with us than you would learn in 6 years of college, this is the fast track to a helpdesk career and you get paid while learning. The compensation will not always match your skill level, and we know other companies will offer you more for beginner positions, BUT you will not find a company more invested in YOU, and once you reach tier 2 your compensation will be raised to a competitive salary. The internship starts at $15 an hour, and you will be considered for a raise every 3 months as you will have learned a lot in those short months. Although there will be 3 month raises, the main benefit and goal of this position will be the amount you will learn, and the career you will have built when you make it to tier 2. To succeed in this role you will need to be able to multi-task, pay attention to detail, show responsibility, have the ability to learn quickly, and most of all have determination to succeed.
Along the way there will be opportunities to veer off into other departments or roles within the company. We open most of our positions internally before looking elsewhere, these positions include the projects/onboarding department, Centralized Services, DevOps, Team Leads, and more.
You will also have the to opportunity to get hands on experience onsite at our clients. This can range from setting up a client’s computer locally, perform a Wi-Fi survey, or assist with a week-long new client onboarding out of state (all expenses paid).
Initial Review Timeline
Each month a sync-up with your lead will be schedyuled to review your progress and align yourselves with what needs improvement.
30 Days:
You will be trained in all our imaging processes including regular setups, locked down kiosk modes, remote user setups, serverless domain joins, remote domain joins, and more.
Expected Outcome: Proficient in all computer setups and able to complete 8 new computer setups daily with perfect quality.
60 Days:
You will be trained on repairing almost any hardware issue on laptops and desktops.
Expected Outcome: Proficient in all hardware repairs, and able to work on both new setups and repair tickets with perfect quality.
90 Days:
You will be trained on how to fully diagnose most computer or laptop issues.
Expected Outcome: Proficient in all hardware diagnostics, and able to work on new setups, repairs, and diagnostic tickets with perfect quality.
Upon successfully completing the 90 day review period, you will remain on the Imaging/Workbench team. The progression will continue within the Imaging/Workbench department and eventually move on to tier 1 and then tier 2.

Interview Process:
