Job Description : Are you excited by the opportunity to launch the company’s Continuous Improvement Initiative from the ground up? Merritt Aluminum Products is looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist, a newly created position with commitment from the company’s leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-skilled black belt to start with a blank slate to develop a strong operational excellence program for the company.This individual will partner with department leaders and team members throughout the organization to improve processes and efficiencies throughout all departments of the company while ensuring that all improvements are directly connected to Merritt Aluminum Products’ strategic vision and core values. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will work with the Executive Leadership Team and Department Managers to determine project priorities and expected outcomes and develop a reporting system to present results to leadership on a regular basis.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field with proven results.Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.Experienced in Statistics, Excel, Capacity models, and Leading Kaizen eventsKnowledge of Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Standards for Inspection, and other plant systems, Process Safety Management knowledge preferredStrong Project Leadership skills + successful completion of large / urgent / cross functional initiativesExperience in Theory of Constraints approach, methodologies, tools, and techniquesDemonstrated ability to solve problems using a variety of problem-solving methodologiesExcellent training and presentation skillsStrong interpersonal skills – the ability to interface with Business leaders, Management teams, Project teams, individuals, and OperatorsStrong communication skills (written and verbal in both one-on-one and group settings)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or equivalent work experienceJob Responsibilities:Lead all company-wide continuous improvement/organizational excellence initiatives and projects.Serve as a positive change agent, mentor and coach to all team members and leadership.Lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams.Ensure all department team members are involved and engaged in the problem solving and execution of each project.Establish performance metrics and develop scorecard to measure and record improvements.Observe and audit processes in every business area to identify opportunities for process or quality improvement.Develop annual strategic initiative plans and budget for each project to present to Executive Leadership Team and department managers for final approval for execution.Instill a Lean/Continuous Improvement culture throughout the organizationAnalyze initiative projects during and after completion of the project and report any noted gains to Executive Leadership Team.Coordination and Training of Lean Six Sigma belt tiers.Collect and organize results to present to department managers and the leadership team.Collaborate with peers, team members and leadership to maintain a positive working environment and encourage an atmosphere of constructive change throughout the organization.Contribute to the company culture by engaging and collaborating with team members in process improvement projects.Job Type: Full-timePay: $120,000.00 – $140,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):Are you a certified Six Sigma Black Belt?Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Continuous improvement: 2 years (Preferred)Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
