Job Description : The Kodiak Trial Court of the Alaska Court System is looking for a highly dependable individual to become a Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10).
The Position
This position will primarily perform case management duties for civil, probate, small claims and children’s cases. This position also maintains petit and grand jury panels. As a Court Case Manager 1, you will accept filings, set up case files, receipt filing fees, review filings for completeness and compliance, issue summons, enter data into the case management system, disburse notices, and route files accordingly. You will be responsible for issuing pretrial orders for dissolution and divorce cases and when appropriate, complete certificate of divorce/dissolution and distribute decrees and child support orders to all parties and CSSD. Other duties will include processing domestic violence and sanity commitment cases, accepting wills and registrations of trust, and assisting the public with withdrawing wills.
This position will perform front counter duties that will include responding to a large variety of questions in person and by phone concerning court procedures, Alaska Statutes, and Rules of Court. You will also provide assistance to customers executing file searches, microfilm requests, and assisting with proper forms and instructions.
The Work Environment
The Kodiak Courthouse is located on Mission Road. The staff includes two Court Case Managers 1 and one Court Case Manager 2 under the supervision of the Clerk of Court. In your role, you will become a part of the Kodiak Trial Court helping to fulfill the mission of the Alaska Court System.
The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 36 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The 36-hour work week is the result of a furlough for the ACS. Please be aware that the work week may be increased to 37.5 hours per week upon termination of the furlough.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.

KEYBOARDING CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
