Job Description : Job OverviewThe Dental Assistant represents Huffman Family Dentistry, LLC in both appearance, attitude, and skill set. The Dental Assistant prepares patients, assists dentist side-chair, sterilizes instruments, sets up rooms, maintains inventory, equipment maintenance, completes lab work, and performs some dental hygiene tasks.Responsibilities for Dental AssistantTake and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication historyAssist dentist by handling supplies and instruments as requestedPrepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and suppliesClean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as neededTake high quality digital dental radiographsEnsure appropriate supply of equipment and materialsPerform patient charting as instructed by the dentistWelcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment roomPerform lab work such as night guards, custom bleach trays, essix retainersQualifications for Dental AssistantHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredLicensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF)Current CPR certification preferred1-2 years of experience as an RDAExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelinesPossess a professional and positive attitudeJob Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 – $25.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftExperience:Dental Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
