Job Description : Description: The Director of Logistics will oversee all importing aspects of finished goods from manufacturers to various destinations (i.e. warehouses, direct to customer, both domestically and/or internationally). The position requires strong organizational skills, action-oriented decision making, ability to work accurately with detailed data. In addition, provide dailyassistance to the Logistics staff to effectively and efficiently move product in/out and among our 3PL Warehouses.Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee department and ensure smooth daily operationsDirect hands on detail work to support the department workloadImport/Export OversightManage the Import Specialist and Logistics ClerksManage the 3PL Warehouses and provide daily assistanceManage the shipping needs of the company officeNegotiate carrier and consolidation contracts, along with negotiating 3PL and courier/air ratesReview production schedule to manage timely bookings and container equipment utilizationCoordinate transportation activities to ensure timely delivery to meet drop-dead datesManage C-TPAT portal to ensure continuity with company’s validation status and add new vendors/security profilesEnsure annual review requirement is metHelp review and assign Tariff Classification on all new products for appropriate Duty rating with the Import SpecialistWork with customs brokers and lab facilities for testing productConduct import entry audits for customs complianceCheck for document correctness and classification accuracyEnsure customs ACH duty payment is paid timelyEnsure 3PL warehouse is provided with inbound and outbound forecasts on a regular basis to ensure ample labor & space needs are met; particularly during peak season (Nov. to Jan.)Oversee product QC inspections and ReturnsInteract directly with company departments and together ensure customer setups are correctPrepare and file Duty Drawback with brokers for duty refundsCoordinate cross border shipments to Canada (creating export docs)Prepare and file Duty Drawback with brokers for duty refundsReview all customer chargebacks as it relates to shipping, warehouse labeling or packing and help determine if chargeback should be forwarded to factory or 3PLMaintain a system to ensure data analysis of costs is accomplishedReview all shipping/warehouse expenses and compare with market rates to ensure best ratesReview and approve all transportation and 3PL invoicesRun month-end inventory and shipping reportsRequired Skills: 5+ years of logistics/supply chain experience in a managerial role Able to multi task and communicate with all levels of personnel both internal and external of the company Knowledge on customs classification for US and Canada, particularly Chapter 64 Experience in cross border shipments and Canadian tariff classifications Strong collaboration, negotiation and management skills Knowledge of multi modal transportation, including small parcel, LTL, TL, ocean freight and USPS Knowledge of Blue Cherry is preferableJob Type: Full-timePay: From $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftAbility to commute/relocate:New York, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Logistics Occupations: 5 years (Required)Shift availability:Day Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
