DSHS FFA Procurement and Supply Specialist 2
Do you have experience planning and coordinating procurement services? We have an opportunity for a Procurement and Supply Specialist 2 in Tacoma. Join us in Transforming Lives as a Procurement and Supply Specialist 2.

In this role, you will provide technical support related to purchasing supplies, materials, and equipment in support of daily operations and the quality of life for the clients of our institutions. You will ensure supplies are available for the health and welfare of our clients. In accordance with state laws and requirements, you will plan, coordinate and perform procurement of services, supplies, materials, parts, and equipment for Consolidated Business Services. You will also maintain inventory and accountability functions of purchase items and services.

Some of what you’ll do:
Prepare and implement procedures relative to supply functions, through the utilization of the automated procurement system or inventory management system
Receive, examine and determine the need for and accuracy of requisitioned items
Approves requests or make appropriate recommendations depending on product availability, pricing, or other considerations
Respond to customer complaints/inquiries via telephone, email, etc. answering research and resolve customer inquiries for problem resolution
Research vendors and prices to obtain the exact product for the best price before purchase
Devise evaluation tools to assist clients in the selection of alternate products
Interview vendors, business representatives, and departmental/institutional officials regarding purchasing in assigned commodity areas
Assist in the coordination of transfers of excess supplies and equipment to, from, and between departments, facilities, institutions, and/or agencies
What we’re looking for:
Knowledge and experience coordinating supply and equipment procurement, controlling inventory, and applying life cycle costing techniques
Experience using online inventory management systems and ability to utilize automated procurement systems
Ability to use a variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft applications
Highly organized, customer and process-oriented and ability to multi-task
Detail-oriented and ensuring our warehouse operates with optimum precision and efficiency
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Who should apply?
Professionals with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, procurement, logistics, supply management, or closely related field
Or
An associate’s degree in purchasing management, business administration, or closely related field and two years of full-time purchasing experience
Or
Two years of experience as a procurement and supply specialist 1
Full-time experience as a purchasing professional may substitute year for year education requirements.
