Some of what you’ll be doing:
As an Electronic Technician you will perform electronic system design, administration, maintenance, diagnostics, installation, and repair of diverse electronic and computer systems.
You will be doing design, administration, maintenance, installation, and repair of complex electronic systems.
You will provide support to systems such as Video Management System, Access Control, Terminal Wide Voice Paging, Baggage Sortation Systems, Parking Revenue Control Systems, Flight Information Management System (FIMS), Common Use System Environment (CUSE), 800 MHz Trunked Radio System, and numerous other electronic systems.
You will also support databases, servers, networks, and cable infrastructure for systems.
Who you are:
Experienced – You have five (5) years of recent experience in electronic and computer systems with hardware and software design, administration, and troubleshooting of complex systems.
Educated – You possess an Associate Degree or certification from a recognized electronic technical school, or related program.
Desired – We hope you have Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Engineering, Computer Science and ten (10) years of recent experience in complex computer-managed electronic systems.
Technical – You possess the skills to design, administer and troubleshoot complex networked electronic and computer systems.
Troubleshooting – You are proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving in order to manage critical electronic system failure responses and recovery efforts.
Communication – You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills while interacting with airport personnel and the public.
Teamwork – You are a strong team-oriented person and willing to help and also have the ability to independently.
What else you need to know:
Work Schedule – You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. The work schedule includes day, swing, and graveyard shifts. Position will be required to participate in trouble call rotations. You may be required to work during emergencies.
Work Environment – You will work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights, inside dusty and/or dirty environments, and/or in confined spaces.
Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement – Effective, November 15, 2021, the Port of Seattle will require that at the time of hire, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be able to provide proof of their full COVID-19 vaccination status, as part of the hiring process. This is a condition of employment for all positions at the Port of Seattle. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Prior to employment, candidates may make requests for a reasonable accommodation based on a medical disability or for sincerely held religious beliefs. Philosophical, political, scientific, or sociological objections to vaccination will not be considered for an exemption or accommodation.
Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. In this role, you will be required to access Port of Seattle Police Department equipment, office locations, systems and/or vehicles. In compliance with Federal and State laws as the successful candidate, you will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.
