Job Summary:
The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) has requirement to provide worldwide field support. As a major subordinate command of Army Materiel Command (AMC), CECOM’s core mission focuses on entire life cycle sustainment and logistics of C5ISR systems. This mission is accomplished through rapid acquisition, maintenance, production, fielding, equipment training, technical assistance, operations, and sustainment of CECOM equipment. CECOM provides the U.S. Army with communications and electronic systems that enable vehicles, tanks, planes, helicopters, ships, satellites, missiles, and the Joint Warfighter to communicate and dominate the battlefield.
Our Field Service Technician will be part of a cohesive team supporting the Mobile Distributed Common Ground System-Army (MOB DCGS-A) family of systems. The ideal candidate will have the skills and expertise to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and resolution of IT related issues impeding the system’s mission capability.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with software installation, configuration, patching and maintenance of DCGS-A and/or the Army’s Mission Command (MC) family of systems.
Initialize, place into operation and troubleshoot software interfaces of specific C5ISR communication systems being supported (ex. IFS /P-MFWS/GWS/CDSS).
Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of Linux and Windows operating systems.
Perform installation and testing of all upgrades and enhancements for VMware infrastructure.
Regularly perform software, hardware, and network troubleshooting and problem identification and resolution.
Assist with remote system administration of software applications to include troubleshooting and installation.
Assists Information Assurance staff with all documentation required for accreditation and any other associated directives and regulations.
Participates in special projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Associates Degree and 3 years’ experience. (In lieu of a degree, substitute 2 years of additional relevant work experience)
Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility clearance
Demonstrated experience with the DCGS-A family of systems including troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems and software applications. Experience patching, upgrading, and maintaining both server and client environments.
Demonstrated experience in VMWare. Experience patching, upgrading, and maintaining both server and client environments.
Demonstrated understanding of networking principles and system network configuration.
Minimum DOD 8570.01-M IAT II Certified in at least ONE of the following certifications at time of hire:
IAT Level II Certifications:
CCNA Security
CSA+
GICSP
GSEC
Security+ CE
SSCP
IAT Level III Certifications (Also Acceptable):
CASP+ CE
CCNP Security
CISA
CISSP
GCED
GCIH
Obtain at least ONE of the following certifications within 6 months of hire:
Current Windows Operating System (OS) certification
Current LINUX Operating System (OS) certification
You must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
Desired Qualifications:
Military experience: Army Mission Operations Specialty (MOS) 35T – Military Intelligence (MI) Systems Maintainer / Integrator
DCGS-A Maintainers Course Completion (3.2.5)
