Part-Time Remote

Position Overview:
The Hondros College of Business Librarian supports and provides resources to students and faculty who are part of Hondros College of Business.
Tasks
Monitor the library email box and respond to inquiries within 36 hours during the week and 24 on the weekend.
Monitor the library folders in both lounges and ensure they stay cleaned up and consistently mirror one another (although the faculty may have additional “help” resources).
Post once per week in both lounges helpful tips, articles, etc. (content) to engage both students and faculty with the library.
Hold one training session at the beginning of each term on using library resources (primarily for students, invite faculty to attend).
Be available to development team to help them identify resources if they want to use them in building classes.
Attend all faculty Start of Term calls to provide any updates or anything related to library; potentially do mini-trainings if requested.
Other duties as assigned
Skills
Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to students, faculty, and staff.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with a genuine concern for people, and the ability to listen and to relate with people of all ages and walks of life are required for this position.
This position requires professionalism, competence and a positive demeanor in the performance of all duties and when interacting with people within and outside the organization.
Education/Training
The ideal candidate has an advanced degree from an accredited college or university, ideally in language arts or a similar discipline.
A master’s in library science (MLS) is preferred, not required. Must be comfortable with working virtually.
Familiarity with LIRN is a plus. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are also required.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, willing and able take initiative and able to work both independently and with others.
