Job Description : A trusted Community Medical Center in Northeast Colorado is looking for an Infection Control Specialist to join their dedicated staff.
This community hospital is government funded, and has been serving the local community for over 60 years. The Infection Control Specialist will join a hospital that offers a wide range of acute-care services including Inpatient Emergency, Radiology, Laboratory, and Pharmacy Services. This health district also offers multiple Primary Care Clinics including Extended Care and Rehabilitation, as well as a variety of Chronic Care and Specialty Clinics.
The Infection Control Specialist will report to the Chief Nursing Officer. The Infection Control Specialist will be supported by multiple departmental teams of administrative and clinical staff throughout the hospital to ensure proper measures for infection prevention are in place. This person will be working alongside the Unit Leaders within the hospital in order to implement and execute proper prevention practices.
The Infection Control Specialist will oversee the practices of the facility targeted at the prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). The Infection Control Specialist will regularly gather and interpret data sets in order to prepare and promote suitable public health practices. This person will spearhead the implementation and review of the hospital’s infection prevention program, as well as provide education and training to all hospital staff. The Infection Control Specialist will also be responsible for presenting annual infection prevention reports to the IPC, Quality Assurance, and hospital leadership. This position is open to certified Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, and Public Health Professionals – CIC is highly preferred.
