You will be responsible for making sure all drivers and visitors are wearing proper protective equipment including vests, proper footwear, and hard hats. This is an extremely safety sensitive position, so we are ideally looking for candidates that have worked in safety sensitive environments previously and whose number one priority matches Waste Connections number one operating value = SAFETY!DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Checking trucks in and out of the landfill and directing traffic at site as necessary.Directing traffic.Speaking directly with the customers on safety and traffic control.Helping customers with any and all needs.Working either outside in all weather conditions or from a truck.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noisesExtensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they ariseOne year of stable employment history in a similar environment.To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com .
